In conjunction with the Manager, Information Technology, this position will provide end user support and manage the day-to-day activities of the Information Technology function. 

Some key responsibilities of the role include:
* Plan and organize work and the configuration of reports, job control languages, program files and data files on the computer system(s) to ensure maximum operating efficiency. 
* Act as liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for outside support cases.
* Responsible for all preventative maintenance work on hardware and software components, inlcuding updating of software and replacement of hardware parts.
* Establish and/or maintain relatiionships with all vendors to include communication and property management systems.
* Maintain daily operation of various computer systems within the hotel to inlcude creating/disabling user accounts.
* Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or relevant field of expertise, preferred. Two years of systems experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You should have a working knowledge of local area networks and Microsoft Windows. Candidates who possess experience with the following programs/systems will be given priority consideration:
* Opera PMS/database/Interface
* Micros POS 9700
* Saflok System
* Superclick SIMS
* Janus Messageboard
* Delphi
* Meridian PBX

Duties and Responsibilities
* Continuous weeklytracking of several subscribed resources and collating reports/articles relevant to IHG (and particularly the brand teams). The focus of information gathering includes, but is not limited to Travel Trends, F&amp;B trends, Internet/Technology trends, Consumer Macro trends, Meeting/Planner trends, Guestroom trends, etc. 
* Maintaining an Excel workbook (Information Resources) of relevant articles/reports downloaded from each of our resources. This Excel workbook has to be updated on a weekly basis and sent to the Director of Consumer Insights at the end of day on every Thursday. A monthly review will be provided at team meetings so share overview of new reports and main takeaways - aswell as agree what to upload to Knowledge Management portal.
* Creating summaries for key industry content, which are chosen by either the Manager/Director, proactively by oneself or agreed upon at meetings. The summaries typically contain a general overview of the report/article, the methodologies used (if any), and key takeaways and highlights.
* Provide necessary support to Director of Consumer Insights by assisting with team project requests as needed on trends or competitor intelligence. Achieving this through scanning of all subscribed resources as well as general secondary/internet research and providing level of analysis/synthesis required.
* Playing central role in the (uploading document/necessary content) set-up and implementation of new global Knowledge Management portal - working very closely with the Manager, Trends &amp; Knowledge Manager and Director, Consumer Insights.
* Providing regular updates of content to the Knowledge Management portal (including monthly uploading of new projects from Consumer Insights team), ensuring online content is managed and integrity maintained in line with governance framework, and analyzing of new articles, broker reports, annual reports, etc. Scope of content includes Market Research, Secondary Research, Knowledge Management, Competitive Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Marketing Best Practices etc. (The list is not exhaustive). 
* Be seen as a "go-to" expert for enquiries relating to Knowledge assets (both supporting requests and encouraging self-service)
* Conducting a variety of on-demand team research requests that will empower decision-making (i.e. from data collection of report, articles) across syndicated sources and analysis and synthesis tasks from our stakeholders. This involves communicating with internal stakeholders to obtain all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs and output requirements, as well as sometimes external vendor support management. 
* Support Manager of Trends &amp; Knowledge Management and Director of Consumer Insights to ensure the tools continue to develop and meet users' and the company's needs. Provide training support if required.
* Publishing bi-weekly newsletter via the Lexis Nexis Publisher Tool. (NOTE: This process still has not started, and will most probably be integrated into IHG's new knowledge portal designed by Northern Light). It is still advised to go into Lexis Nexis periodically and keep publishing any relevant articles. These should be sent for review to Manager of Trends &amp; Knowledge Management and Director of Consumer Insights to get a better understanding of what needs to be published
* Disseminating the Analyst Reports to the distribution list 'AMER US Competitive Intelligence.'
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge and advise IHG colleagues of key industry trends/developments and market research sources impacting key functions of IHG as those trends/best practices relate to and impact the business
* If required, write articles for the trends monthly alert and newsletters that are to be sent out to key stakeholders at various intervals. These articles could include general trends articles, articles with references to industry articles from our resources, or short summary/brief type news/snippets.

Education

At a minimum, Bachelors degree in social sciences/research-oriented discipline (i.e. anthropology, history, psychology, research) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Information Management / Research / Knowledge Management). Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies/Information Technology/Management from ALA-accredited program Preferred.

Experience

Progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position - including experience in a corporate information environment

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. 8 years work experience in business systems analysis across multiple business processes and/or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of systems with demonstrated mastery of technical and business knowledge and understanding of multiple discipline/processes related to the position. 

Required Skills- At least5 years of Peoplesoft functional experience, 3 years of Peoplesoft financials experience (project costing module) with one implementation OR sufficient hands-on PS PC experience with system and process changes, including configuration options and testing.

Job Summary
The Technology Solutions Group (TSG) is responsible for all aspects of technology design, innovation and localisation within the region's hotels, offices and data centres. We are the design authority for all technology standards for both Corporate &amp; Hotels in the UK and mainland Europe. The Product Development &amp; Delivery Manager will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to develop and deliver innovative new solutions into our business, and maintain clear ownership of the Product Catalogue ("menu" of products and services, including pricing).
The Product Development &amp; Delivery Manager will be wholly responsible for developing &amp; delivering turn-key products and services for the region's hotels from solutions designed by Global teams (e.g. Guest Technology), regional teams and vendors. They are responsible for maintaining and publishing the Product Catalogue to all hotels, owners and asset managers. The role owns all supplier contracts in relation to the Product Catalogue and will be responsible for initiating, leading and delivering tenders as well as supplier selection processes. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

* Lead the development of guest and hotel products and services by working with both regional vendors and global IHG teams to identify and implement opportunities for technology prototyping of innovative guest and hotel products for the region.
* Develop an in-depth understanding of the Branded Guest Experience and the Unique Guest Experience for each brand, identifying and developing appropriate technology to drive brand differentiation and growth.
* Work with appropriate teams (e.g. the Brand, Global Strategy, Global Procurement, Sales and Operations teams) to identify, develop and package turn-key solutions and products.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with the Global Technology teams and ensure that the region is fully engaged in the launch of new products &amp; services, applying regional expertise and knowledge to the localisation of initiatives from the central teams.
* Work with key stakeholders, including the Technology Design &amp; Architecture Director and Global Procurement, to define a consistent and transparent process for vendor accreditation in the region.
* Work alongside the Technology Design &amp; Architecture Director to support the development of a standardised Product Catalogue consisting of innovative, marketable, secure solutions that meet the changing needs of our business, which can be offered to customers, hotel owners and asset managers.
* Work with the Service Management team to define service level requirements, ensuring they are fully documented and underpinned with meaningful SLA's, OLA's and supplier contracts.
* Work with the Service Management &amp; Service Implementation teams to ensure a successful and smooth transition of packaged products to the Service Management teams and their agents.
* Own all maintenance and support contracts relating to the Product Catalogue and ensure that:
* New contracts are negotiated and signed with terms and service schedules that meet our minimum requirements.
* The suppliers' contractual obligations are met and exceeded by working alongside the region's Service Managers.
* Additions, deletions and amendments are made to existing contracts to reflect changes in service.
* Contracts are renewed or put out to tender in advance of contract expiry.
* Contract coverage is clearly represented and provided to Service Management.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with the business and owner community to develop insight into their technology needs both now and in the future. Job Summary 

The Technology Solutions Group (TSG) is responsible for all aspects of technology design, innovation, business analysis and localisation within our region's hotels, offices and data centres. As part of Global Technology Europe our three teams of specialists have a wide range of skills and experience from both hospitality and technology backgrounds, bringing together operational, technical and competitor insights to support our brands and corporate colleagues.

The Technology Design &amp; Architecture team collaborates closely with regional and global stakeholders to define technology standards for the region's hotel and corporate offices, ensuring that innovative new solutions are introduced into our business to support the brand propositions and our brand plans to win.

The Technical Services and Business Services teams provide customisation &amp; design, certification and business analysis for our central and hotel based technologies, taking their strategic and architectural lead from the Technology Design &amp; Architecture team.

A Business Analyst will work closely with our business sponsors and act as a bridge between global technology, our brand, function and operational teams in the European region. They will drive our technology vendors to understand what is important to our brands and influence their product roadmaps accordingly. They will provide independent advice relating to both heart-of-house and guest facing technology to our owned, managed, franchised and leased hotels and ensure that systems are deployed and used effectively, and are optimised to deliver maximum benefit in our hotels using best practise and current recommendations available. They will be able to provide consultancy services to internal functions, key vendors and owner/franchisee groups to support the integration of key technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage the development lifecycle for existing hotel applications and communicate the development roadmap to internal stakeholders and key business sponsors.
* Serve as the conduit between the customer community (Internal and External) and the vendor's application development team through which requirements flow.
* A thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
* Elicit requirements using a range of techniques: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, hotel visits, business process descriptions, scenarios and business analysis.
* Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
* Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analysis information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following documents as needed: Functional Requirements and Business Requirements Documents.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people from all levels of the organisation: Managers, Owners and Investors, Functional and Business Sponsors and Subject Matter Experts.
* Demonstrate a high understanding of the IHG Brands and interpret how TSG is able to assist in the Unique Guest Experience for each brand. Share this information with the wider Global Technology Europe team assisting in creating a Brand hearted culture in the department.
* Responsible for developing design, best practice programs, documentation, processes and training to support the implementation of hotel technologies, collaborating with other members of the technology solutions team where appropriate.
* Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following:
* Europe's preferred PMS systems interfacing to our proprietary Reservation System and Revenue Management System.
* Third Party Interface to PMS systems such a Credit Card, Mini Bar, Reporting, Financial Systems.
* Mobile and Web Technologies including kiosk.
* Provide consultancy services for Franchised and Managed hotels IT and Operational teams in adapting a best practice.
* Responsible for creating the installation and upgrade path for all hotels as they open or migrate to a new PMS, ensuring that they understand how to plan their installation / migration / configuration for optimal system performance and revenue enhancements.
* Responsible for training key personnel from the Program Management and Service Management teams as enhancements are developed.
Required Qualifications 
* Demonstrate excellent knowledge of hospitality IT technology and hotel operational practices as well as specialist skills in at least three of the following areas:
* Heart-of-house systems
* PMS
* S&amp;C
* POS (Food and Beverage)
* Financial Systems
* Third Party Interfaces (Mini Bar, HSIA, Key , Telephone, Call Accounting etc)
* Central System
* Central Reservations
* Revenue Management Systems
Desirable Skill Capabilities
* Understanding of IHG Global Technology standards and operational procedures in the following systems:
* OPERA PMS
* HOLIDEX® Plus CRS
* PERFORM RMS
* Magic
Non-Technical (including Managerial Capabilities)
* Demonstrate strong analytical and product management skills and strategic capability
* Contribute to the development and delivery of IHG's vision Great Hotels Guest Love
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organisation
* Self motivated and focused on results, successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

Qualifications
* MBA in Business Management would be an advantage
Specific Experience
* Likely to have at least 5 years practical experience of hotel operations

* A good working knowledge of IT and hospitality technology
